Although we won’t hear the record until October, Sugar Horse continue to preview ‘Grand Scheme Of Things’. The “doomgaze” quartet has shared its second single in the form of ‘The Shape Of ASMR To Come’.
Blending cathartic lyrics, stirring instrumentation, and momentous and heavy blasts, ‘The Shape Of ASMR To Come’ highlights Sugar Horse‘s compelling ability.
With cries of “Hallelujah” and defiant lines such as “All we ever wanted was enough,” the track allows Sugar Horse vocalist/guitarist Ashley Tubb to give an emotional release, as he reflects on the death of his father.
“After my dad’s passing, in the time before his funeral, I learned a tonne about his life that I previously hadn’t a clue about,” commented Ashley on ‘The Shape Of ASMR To Come’. “He’s been through a fair bit in his life and this song is kind of about that. It’s a kind of “through adversity, there is redemption” type song. No pain, no gain etc.”
‘Grand Scheme Of Things’ by Sugar Horse is released on October 4th on Pelagic Records.
