With just days until they release their seventh studio album, ‘Some Of It Was True’The Menzingers have shared another track from the record called ‘Try’.

The energetic number is the final taster before the album drops this Friday (October 13th), and is described as a “swaggering composition”. There’s no doubt ‘Try’ captures The Menzingers at their most catchiest with its rousing powerpop chorus and stirring guitar work, returning to their vibrant origins. It’s a sentiment the band agrees with.

“It brought us back to our energetic side as a band,” guitarist and vocalist Tom May comments on the experience of making the record. “We got to let loose, which is what drew us to the energy of being in a band in the first place. This is a live band—why shouldn’t we record live songs? As a result, we’re back to why we started this band in the first place.”

‘Try’ Lyrics

Can’t sleep
Fever dreams
Yet another failed prophecy
The Great Shame
The guilt, desire
I can’t turn it off

When you’re falling slowly
It’s not your fault
So tired and lonely
It’s All fucked up

I’m not alright
I’m losing my mind
I try try try try try try try try
I’m running out of time

All grief, no relief
Same story on repeat
Too broke to save the world
too broke to save myself

Ain’t for tryin’
