2024 has seen Footballhead be very productive. Having released their debut album, ‘Overthinking Everything’, in March, the Chicago-based group released a mini-album called ‘Before I Die’. Today, as they head out on a US tour, they’ve shared a new track called ‘Sliver’.

The track sees the quintet lean into the shoegaze side, combining a hazy tone with an assured brand of emotive alt-rock.

The band’s own Snow Ellet produced ‘Sliver’, who received plenty of praise from Footballhead frontman Ryan Nolen.

“The production on ‘Sliver’ is for sure our best yet,” shared Ryan Nolen. “Snow crushed it on this one and nailed that energy of floating, being trapped, and having to live with all you’ve done. The bridge dials it back and conveys [that] we know how to be melodic and slow it down, too. It’s also the moment of realization in the song. Stoked on how this one turned out.”

Footballhead‘s second full-length is expected to be released in 2025. Before then, fans on the East Coast of the USA can catch them on the following dates. New Age Thief will be joining them on a majority of the dates. The run will also include. a date opening for Taking Back Sunday and Sweet Pill.
