Sheffield trio Air Drawn Dagger continue to preview their debut album, ‘A Guide For Apparitions,’  ahead of its release on April 4th via Long Branch Records. This time they’ve shared album closer, ‘Bellyaches’.

While past singles ‘Sanctifound’ and ‘Apparitions’ have seen ADD take a bold, alt-rock route, ‘Bellyaches’ loosens things up.  Described as “an ode to getting into a mess with your mates,” it sees the three-piece prosper in a pounding, melancholy pop-punk skin.

“Partially an ‘end credits’ song for the album, as we bask in euphoric, self-destructive thoughts. Inspired by the emo revival of Modern Baseball etc. and the dopamine hit of shouting lyrics in unison, whilst barely conscious, inside sweaty basements,” commented Air Drawn Dagger on ‘Bellyaches.’ An ode to getting into a mess with your mates but believing it’ll be ok in the end. Lastly, another nod to rejecting the passage of time, opting to die in the most joyful moment of your life rather than coming down off the high.”

Its video matches the grateful tone with clips of the band’s journey so far, interlaced with their scenic performance. From DIY touring across the United States, to behind-the-scenes footage and past music video bloopers, it creates a wholesome narrative. However, like many Air Drawn Dagger videos, there’s a dark narrative creeping not too far behind.
