Album Review: Everyday Sidekicks – The Things I’ve Seen EP

Everyday Sidekicks – The Things I’ve Seen EP

Everyday Sidekicks have been attempting to climb up the slippery metalcore ladder since their inception back in 2012, and with their latest effort ‘The Things I’ve Seen’, they are hoping it has the legs to help them up a few steps. With the likes of the despondently infectious ‘Mirrors’, the nostalgic leaning ‘Pitch Black’ and positively defiant ‘How We Survive’, the band proudly show off the energetic spring in their step and the keen ear for the catchy that they have thoroughly mixed in with their buoyant riffery.

Though there isn’t an awful lot to set them out from the rest of the pumped-up kids trying to break through the glass ceiling, what ‘The Things I’ve Seen’ does for Everyday Sidekicks is demonstrate a level of maturity and development in their songwriting, as well as a clear hunger for achieving bigger and brighter things no matter what it takes. Definitely a dark horse to watch out for over the next year or so.
