Due to ongoing health issues with vocalist Tom Weaver, Casey has rescheduled their upcoming UK tour for later in the year.
It follows the band’s recent US tour with Holding Absence where Weaver was hospitalised for several days.
In a statement posted across the band’s social media, Casey shared:
“Hey Everyone
If you’ve been following along with our USA tour updates, you would have seen that Tom was taken into the hospital with the flu and a serious fever. Off the back of that, he’s been left with damage to his kidneys and a heart valve that requires further medical attention at home. In the interest of preserving the longevity of the band, we want to make sure Tom’s health is in a good place before embarking on another extensive run of shows.
With this in mind, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to postpone our upcoming UK headline shows to give Tom the time he needs to pursue medical assistance at home.
The shows aren’t being cancelled; we just need time to make sure we’re not putting too much pressure on Tom, which the intensity of a high number of headline shows within a short period could bring on.
We really appreciate your understanding. We are committed to performing as much as we can to celebrate our new record with as many of you as possible this year. However, we need to make sure we’re looking after ourselves and not jeopardizing the long-term sustainability of the band.
All our love, as always. Adam, Liam, Max, Toby, and Tom.”
Casey‘s UK tour was originally set to take place in April, but will now begin in late October.
