El Moono Share New Single (‘Haunting’)

El Moono

Exciting post-metal outfit El Moono continue to preview their upcoming debut album, ‘The Waking Sun’. With the album due for release on May 10th, the Brighton-based quartet have shared its latest single – ‘Haunting’.

Led by anxiety-inducing strings, wiry guitars, and a slow-burning build, it’s another enticing track from El Moono“‘Haunting’ was written from the perspective of my partner. The lyrics address the toxicity of body dysmorphia, and immerse the listener in the body of someone experiencing it,” El Moono commented. “The shoegaze-influenced choruses of ‘Haunting’ are punctuated by Chris’ (Cartwright) blast-beat sections, while Jim’s (Haas) overdubs of a Rhodes keyboard re-amped through tonnes of reverb are providing the spacey highs. We didn’t have the opportunity to record a real choir for the breakdown, but we layered multiple Zac’s (Jackson) alongside vocals from Rebecca Tranter.”

‘Haunting’ follows previous ‘Song of the Day’ pick, ‘The Charm’Musically, the track once again shows El Moono‘s sonic prowess. It’s an element the four-piece will highlight when they host a special unveiling of the album at the Dolby Screening Room in London on 8th May. It’ll allow a limited number of fans to hear the album delivered in a 360-degree spatial Dolby Atmos mix, two days before it’s released. An additional session will be held on 17th May in Brighton.

El Moono has also announced a UK Tour

In additional news, El Moono will follow the release of ‘The Waking Sun’ with a run of headline shows. They will kick off in their home base of Brighton, before hitting up seven other venues.
