Leeds alt-rockers Higher Power have joined the Nuclear Blast roster.
Having formed in the Yorkshire city a decade ago, the quintet’s sound has evolved from hardcore punk to one reminiscent of 90’s alt-rock. As evident on their new single, ‘Absolute Bloom’, Higher Power embrace florescent grungy guitars with vibrant melodies.
“I’m super excited to release this song,” Higher Power vocalist Jimmy Wizard commented. “It’s really personal to me in this transitional period of my life, about wanting a deeper more meaningful connection to the real world and not quite being equipped to do so, but finding hope and figuring it out. The music reflects that with a song that’s so big and upbeat.”
Currently on tour in the US supporting Neck Deep, Higher Power are set to appear at Glasgow’s Northern Unfest in April, followed by a return to Outbreak Festival in late June.
