AC/DC co-founder and former guitarist Malcolm Young has died. He retired from the band in 2014 due to health reasons. Young had been diagnosed with dementia and entered a nursing home to receive full-time care.

Stone Temple Pilots have welcomed Detroit music veteran Jeff Gutt as their new singer. A as-yet-untitled album will be released on Atlantic/Rhino in 2018.

Equal Vision Records have confirmed All Get Out and Hussey (the solo project of frontman Nathan Hussey) have joined the label. Both projects will be releasing new albums in 2018.
Watford quartet The Spitfires have joined Leeds label Hatch Records. Their first release on the label will be a 7" single titled ‘Over And Over Again’.
Japanese power metal heroines Lovebites have revealed their debut full-length album, ‘Awakening From Abyss’, will be released in the UK via JPU Records on 8th December.
