A week on from announcing their debut EP, ‘Post-Genesis’, Lake Malice have premiered the video for their latest single – ‘Mitsuko’.
The Brighton-based duo described the video as “intense and violent” as it sees them work with horror filmmaker Loki Films. “From an eerie laboratory, Mitsuko unleashes her extraordinary power and rage to seek retribution on those she had trusted to nurture and protect her,” Lake Malice explained, adding they took inspiration from Eleven from Stranger Things.
‘Mitsuko’ is lifted from ‘Post-Genesis’ which will be released on October 27th. The EP is available as a limited edition 12” vinyl from lakemalice.com or at the band’s plethora of upcoming live dates (from release date, and while stocks last).

‘Mitsuko’ Lyrics
Where have you been
You’re supposed to guide me
It’s a tedious theme
We gather round the table then we play the dream team
When poppa needs to be spoon-fed
And he makes you think you’re better off dead
Shut the door cause it gets so bad
Say no more, make a move, don’t stay
Think I’m better off better of dead
{I spent all those years resenting you}
Think I’m better off better off dead
{finding reasons to stop forgiving you)
Can I help you daddy
Think you got confused with someone else’s wedding
I’m a stranger’s body
Hanging by your death bed while I watch you begging
All I wanted was a hand to hold
Trace my steps through this manic world
Turn your back till you can let go
Was it love was it gold was it mould
All your promises are getting old
I’ve been standing on this stage alone
And I waited for you to come home
Where did you go did you go did you go
Can I help you daddy
Think you got confused with someone else’s wedding
I’m a stranger’s body
Hanging by your death bed while I watch you begging
Washed up on the shore
Call for help, go on
Fuck this, fuck you
You ain’t got me no more
This is not about you
This is not about you
This is not about you
It’s everything you made me go through
