Welsh quintet The Nightmares have confirmed their second album, ‘Fire In Heaven’, will be released through Venn Records on 14th February 2025.

The follow-up to 2023’s ‘Séance’ sees the five-piece explore the theme of lost love and the enormity of the universe at large. While stylistically draws on influences such as Alkaline Trio, Motion City Soundtrack, The Get Up Kids, Bright Eyes, Interpol, and The Cure. This is partially achieved by an expanded line-up, allowing The Nightmares to explore a grandiose sound. However, as new single, ‘Dead Roses’, shows The Nightmares‘ shimmering goth-noir quality remains, and have paired it with favourable pop harmonies.

“‘Dead Roses’ is a song that explores how a single thought or observation can trigger a deep-set emotional reaction inside one’s self,” states vocalist and guitarist Adam Parslow when discussing the meaning behind the track. “How something as trivial as a discarded rose on the ground can transport you back to a time in your life when something traumatic happened to you. Life can sometimes lead us into a false sense of emotional security – only to strike us down like a dagger in the night when we least expect it… ‘Dead Roses’ is a song that explores those emotions, anxieties and fears.”

‘Fire In Heaven’ will also include this past summer’s single, ‘Something In The Dark. While The Nightmares will play a special album release show at Cardiff’s Clwb Ifor Bach on February 14th.
