Last month we premiered the first of 2 exclusives from Pacific Ridge Records’ forthcoming ‘A Tribute to Taking Back Sunday’ release. Today we’re premiering the second of those exclusives.
As you probably have guessed, ‘A Tribute to Taking Back Sunday’ sees a variety of bands; Everyone Dies In Utah, Icarus The Owl, Traditions, Knockout Kid and more, paying homage Long Island emo rock stalwarts Taking Back Sunday.
Todays premiere comes from Boston, MA’s The Press War and sees them taking on ‘My Blue Heaven’ from TBS’ third album – ‘Louder Now’.
The Press War’s frontman Anthony Rainville told us why Taking Back Sunday is such an influence for him:
“The album "Where You Want to Be” is a record that hugely influenced my songwriting. When that came out, I was going through the first breakup I’d ever been in, and a lot of those songs helped me through it. So much of my life is a blur, but I still have really vivid memories of listening to those songs for the first time and being blown away at how much they were relevant to what I was going through at the time. Also the songs fucking ruled.“
‘A Tribute to Taking Back Sunday’ is released 4th April on Pacific Ridge Records.
